This resource is designed to support educators to search for and select books to enhance science programs, engage students in science/STEM topics, and stimulate student curiosity.

Books are colour-coded, and organised by recommended age, science topics, Science as a Human Endeavour, STEM connections, and cross-curriculum priorities.

Scroll through the spreadsheet embedded below, or download an MS Excel version. You’ll find these Deadly Science books, and other good science books throughout the database. The resource is regularly updated with new titles.

Search tips!

  • Each title is hyperlinked to the Trove database, which provides a short synopsis of the book, and information about where it is available.
  • Scroll horizontally for colour-coded details on the science topics, Science as a Human Endeavour, STEM connections, and cross-curriculum priorities each book contains.
  • Scroll vertically to find more book titles.
  • In the Excel version only, a search function for titles and authors appears in cells A2 and B2 respectively. Results matching your search terms will be highlighted in blue, and all other titles will be white.
